Catallaxy

Aim and scope

Catallaxy (e-ISSN 2544-090X) is a semi-annual, double-blind peer-reviewed open access journal. The scope of the journal covers the area of social sciences in the field of economics and is located in the discipline of economics and finance. The journal publishes scientific and review articles based on various research methods (qualitative and quantitative). Preference is given to papers presenting the results of original research, which combines economic theory with empirical data.

Catallaxy is a scientific journal devoted to heterodox economics and progressive socio-economic ideas. The ambition of Catallaxy is to participate in the debate on the future of economics as a social science of pluralistic character and striving to improve the quality of life of individuals and social groups without harming future generations. We also welcome papers from related fields of social sciences providing they match the journal’s profile. Thus, we are interested in publishing papers which:

  • cast a new theoretical or analytical perspective on the socio-economic challenges of the modern world;
  • emphasize the complexity of economic processes and their interdependence with political, social, historical, cultural and other factors;
  • formulate recommendations for public policies based on scientific foundations;
  • demonstrate that economic phenomena occur in time and in a specific social context;
  • refer to the categories of social structures and power relations, as well as adopt a holistic perspective in explaining socio-economic phenomena;
  • take up the subject of progressive socio-economic policy that breaks clichés and addresses vital problems of modernity.
